Frequently Asked Questions
Given the constraint of selecting just one, who would you deem your favorite author?
I have many favorites, but when asked to choose only one, I would say Washington Irving. Irving was a genius of his time. I adore his ability to convey humor, imagery, and satire so effectively in all of his stories.
Which of Irving's stories is your favorite and why?
That's an easy question to answer --The legend of Sleepy Hollow. Despite its brevity, Irving's 1820 publication has endured for almost two centuries. The vivid depictions of characters, settings, and events have captured the fascination of both young and older readers alike. This timeless tale has also served as a muse for various forms of artistic expression, including art and films, from its initial release until present day. It's an amazing feet by an author who lived so long ago.
Where do your creative ideas come from?
That is a difficult if not impossible answer because the genesis of my artistic conceptions often eludes me.
Of all the stages involved in writing, which do you most relish?
My penchant for learning leads me to favor the investigative aspect. As a perpetual student at heart, I thrive on research.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out in the writing journey?
For writers embarking on their literary odyssey, I highly recommend attending creative writing courses or delving into literature on the topic. Above all, do not allow the challenges of the industry to dismay you. Persevere.
Of all the screenplays and Novels which ones are your favorites and why?
I love all my works. However, Snow Angel holds a special place in my heart due to its setting which is a nostalgic depiction of my rural childhood. Although I grew up much differently than Angel Vasquez, I find a lot of Angel within myself. Attending a country school, I have vivid memories of eagerly anticipating the arrival of Santa Claus at the end of our annual Christmas play, held in a rustic community hall. The treat bags distributed to us, filled with sweet treats, nuts, and festive fruits, marked the beginning of our Christmas break and served as a symbol of joy during this magical time spent with loved ones. Celebrating holidays with family was a magical unforgettable time in my life. For me, that feeling of joy continues today.
